The Challenges of Windmill Conservation (Live Online Lecture)  

15 June 2022, 12pm-1pm

The lecture will compare the current techniques used in the repair of windmills with traditional techniques used by the old-time millwrights. Luke Bonwick will draw on his experience of a range of conservation projects from across the country. This will include insights and advice collected during 25 years of practical work with a number of specialist millwrights and millers. Please note that the lecture will be recorded, and all registered participants will receive a link for the recording after the lecture.

Berkshire Mills – Turning the Clock Back (Live Online Lecture) 

13 July 2022, 12pm-1pm  

£6 pp – SPAB Members  

£8 pp – Non-Members  

This talk is based on images past and present of the watermills of Berkshire. Mildred Cookson will show the diversity of the mills, including those producing flour, paper and even one with cork production. Sadly no windmills survive in this area now. It will also show the future that mills can be put to for green energy.  Please note that the lecture will be recorded, and all registered participants will receive a link for the recording after the lecture.
