This will be the final ever BRICK workshop! This exciting workshop, which will be held at the Bar Convent in York, will focus on topics which are vital to ensure the proper planning for reusing heritage sites, such as governance, business planning and fundraising. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet other community projects and network with experts in the sector.
The Bar Convent is England’s oldest living convent, founded in 1686 as a school for girls. In 2015, following a multi-million-pound renovation, it became The Bar Convent Living Heritage Centre and the Grade 1 Listed eighteenth-century buildings now house a state-of-the-art Exhibition, an award-winning Cafe and highly-rated Guest House, plus newly refurbished Conference facilities.
Including:
- ‘Milton Rooms, Malton: The Story So Far’ by Judy Cliffe, Chair of The Milton Rooms
- Niall Phillips, Purcell on new uses for historic buildings
- BRICK’s 5 Key Themes – An Overview (Governance, New Uses, Digital Innovation, Business Planning and Fundraising)
Tickets, including lunch and refreshments, cost just £19. We want to make sure our workshops are accessible to everyone so offer a travel bursary for representatives of community groups (max £25 per person, two per organisation).
