Arts Council England has announced details of the Museum Estates and Development Fund (MEND) Round 3. This is an open-access capital fund targeted at non-national Accredited museums based in England and/or English local authorities who are responsible for maintenance of non-national Accredited museum buildings.

This is an opportunity to apply for funding to undertake vital infrastructure and urgent maintenance backlogs which are beyond the scope of day-to-day maintenance budgets. A number of industrial heritage sites have benefitted from the funds in the first two round, most recently eight industrial sites benefitted from the fund in March 2023.

The key dates for applications are:

• Expressions of Interest deadline: midday 21 April 2023
• Full application forms open: 9am on 30 May 2023
• Full application deadline: midday 18 August 2023
