At the end of June 2022 the Historic Environment Forum, with the support of Historic England, launched a Heritage Sector Resilience Plan designed to provide a clear roadmap to a more robust and resilient heritage sector. Its the result of a number of online workshops held in late 2021/early 2022 in response to the COVID pandemic. These were intended to record how the sector has coped with this crisis and to learn lessons about improving our response in the future.
It identified key topics for inclusion in the Plan, together with suggestions for actions to enhance the resilience of the sector. The Plan focuses on five themes which are relevant to all Industrial heritage sites:
- skills;
- strong governance;
- climate change;
- diversity and inclusion;
- and embedding heritage in wider policy
