Culture Recovery Fund – Third Round Details Released

Culture Secretary, Oliver Dowden, has announced the details of the third round of funding in the Culture Recovery Fund (CRF). This is the emergency funding that the Government established to support the cultural sector in England through the Covid-19 pandemic. The final £300 million of funds announced on 25th June 2021 brings the total amount of funding for the cultural sector up to £2 billion.

The Culture Recovery Fund has already provided £1.2 billion to more than 5,000 organisations and sites across the country, protecting an estimated 75,000 jobs and supporting almost 100,000 freelancers.

The majority of the funding will be part of the Culture Recovery Fund: Continuity Support programme, which will make £220 million of grants available to those who have already received support, to enable them to continue to recover from the pandemic. The rest of the funding will be allocated to the Culture Recovery Fund: Emergency Resource Support programme and will be available to those who have not previously received funding and are at imminent risk of failure. More details of the scheme will be released later this summer.
