Post-Medieval Archaeology Congress 2021

The annual conference of the Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology starts today (28 May) and runs to 30 May 2021. The Society for Post-Medieval Archaeology is Europe’s leading society for the study and promotion of historical archaeology, and welcomes global perspectives on the archaeology of the post-medieval world up to the present day and beyond. To achieve this aim the Society publishes the triannual journal Post-Medieval Archaeology, and a twice yearly newsletter, as well as regular monographs, and holds conferences and meetings.

This year’s Congress is entirely online. There are several industrial archaeology and heritage papers, and a discussion session on Saturday 29 May on the theme ‘Industrial, coastal & martime archaeology’.

Our very own IHSO will be taking part in today’s (28 May) twitter conference (#PMCA21), looking at the impact of the pandemic on industrial heritage sites, and will take part in tomorrow’s (29 May) discussion session on ‘Archaeology of and in times of plague and crisis: COVID-19’.

Follow online using #PMAC21. There’s still time to book tickets for this online conference. Just follow this link: https://pmac21.com/
