Several Museum Development England regions are offering grants of up to £5000 to help museums improve security and display conditions of their collections and loans through the On Display! initiative.
The On Display! grants are a national programme of public funding from the UK Government through Arts Council England, distributed by Museum Development providers across the country. It will enable more museums to benefit from funding and implement best practice. The aims of the On Display! grants are to:
- Enable museums to improve their security to keep their own collections and objects on loan safer.
- Support museums to improve the care of objects on display, providing better conditions.
- Encourage museums to borrow objects from national or larger regional museums now, or in the future.
The scheme supports the Ambition & Quality and Inclusivity & Relevance principles in Arts Council England’s Let’s Create strategy for the cultural sector.
