The Traditional Cornmillers Guild launched an Insurance Survey earlier this year to assess the how the sector is coping. It has already received over 40 responses from water and wind mill owners providing information about their insurance cover, the costs, and the issues they face. The survey is still live.
The Mills Archive Trust reports that the partial data is highlighting some important issues and trends including the fact that six of the mills which have already responded fear that the cost of insurance could prevent them from continuing to open to the public – which is 15% of the respondee group.
However, to gain a more comprehensive picture The Traditional Cornmillers Guild need more mills to respond, so that the evidence-based is as strong as possible.
