The recording of Historic England’s industrial heritage webinar looking at the various research projects undertaken as part of Stockton and Darlington Railway Heritage Action Zone is now available online.

The Stockton & Darlington Railway opened on September 27, 1825, connecting places, people, communities and ideas and ultimately transforming the world. The Stockton & Darlington Railway Heritage Action Zone ran from 2018 to 2023 and was established to protect and raise awareness of the innovative railway in the lead up to the line’s 200th anniversary, and to develop its potential to deliver economic growth and regeneration in the local area. The Heritage Action Zone included a significant amount of new research which is the subject of the seminar.
