This spring, Historic England will launch a new training programme to follow on from the successful Heritage Carbon Literacy courses. Guided by discussions and feedback from the sector, this new training will support heritage organisations to measure their carbon footprint and write a carbon reduction action plan. The aim is to help demystify what organisations need to do and overcome any barriers they may be facing.
Historic England are now looking for 8 -10 small heritage organisations (excluding churches, national, or local authority run organisations but including industrial heritage sites) who manage or own a heritage site/attraction or provide heritage services, and have not measured their carbon footprint, to take part in a Pilot of the course. The commitment will require attendance at 2 x two-hour training workshops 6 weeks apart (in March/April), and some independent work.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 24th February. If you would like to find out more, and submit an expression of interest form please visit – https://forms.office.com/e/06AM0Phbd7
