Historic England and English Heritage have announced their 2024 Call for Proposals for Round 4 of their AHRC funded Collaborative Doctoral Partnership programme. The programme provides funding for collaborative PhD studentship projects which support the work of the two organisations.
Proposals must match one of HE’s published CDP Priority Research Areas 2024. These are:
- Digital Heritage: Adopting, Supporting and Sustaining FAIR Digital Heritage
- From Tradition to Innovation: The performance and durability of paint systems for external traditional lime-based substrates
- Open Space: Enabling Inclusion
- The Design, Development, Management and Maintenance of Historic Path Surfaces
- Climate Change Impacts – Compound Hazards
The deadline for proposals is the 29th November 2024. Historic England and English Heritage encourage a range of proposals across these areas that can demonstrate academic originality, are appropriate for collaborative study at doctoral level, and fall within the AHRC subject remit. Proposals must also demonstrate that they can provide the students with career development opportunities (for three to six months) outside of their main research within the funded four-year period.
