Historic England Launch ‘Everyday Heritage Grants’ Celebrating Working Class Histories

Historic England is launching a new round of the ‘Everyday Heritage Grants: Celebrating Working Class Histories’ this August. The grants are designed to fund projects that celebrate working class histories and the historic places that make up everyday life. The first round was launched in 2022 and funded a variety of local community projects, from Horton Cemetery in Epsom to Dunston Staithes on the River Tyne.

This second round seeks proposals for projects with costs of up to £25,000, but Historic England are keen to fund a number of smaller projects up to £10,000. The grants are for projects that focus on heritage connecting people to historic places, specifically those people and places that are overlooked or underrepresented. Several industrial-themed projects were funded in the first round.
